Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Summer Production Team Member is responsible for anticipating and meeting the Company’s evolving needs and objectives. The Summer Production Team Member assists with achieving daily production demand and ensuring the make of high-quality products. Assuring safety, quality and performance objectives are a foundational expectation for this role.

Requirements:

The Summer Production Help Team Member will shift between departments to help cover FT employee absences and breaks. The list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management deem necessary.

  • Excellent attendance – must adhere to scheduled work time and be punctual.
  • Portray a positive “can do” attitude.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understands and works conscientiously to achieve the scheduled production numbers.
  • Lifting capacity of 10-45 lbs. continuously (36, 000 to 60,000 lbs. daily).
  • Able to keep pace with fill machine at or above standard rate.
  • Maintain proper line speed.
  • Responsible for manually packing of individual finished foods into retail cartons, bulk cartons, and master cases.
  • Assure proper labels are being used respective to the customer order and are properly attached to the product. Hand labeling may be necessary for some orders.
  • Inspect raw cheeses for mold, dirt, unsanitary conditions, broken boxes, etc.
  • Follow proper procedure in using scale to weigh cheese.
  • Adhere to OSHA standards and hold team members accountable to do the same.
  • Follow the set Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for safe food handling.
  • Palletize finished product, verifying all product counts while understanding proper pallet formation.
  • Move necessary product ingredients to staging area for restacking.
  • Properly organize storage of ingredients and raw cheese supplies for production.
  • Maintain a well-organized and sanitary workspace according to the company’s required Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Promote a safe, secure, and positive work environment for all ECC-New London Employees.
  • Other appropriate duties as assigned.
