Title: Maintenance Technician

Report To: Maintenance Manager

Position Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm


Introduction

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the efficient execution of preventative maintenance, repairs and installations to ensure continued production. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 10d.

Summary/ Objective

The Maintenance Technician conducts the installation, repair, and upkeep of the infrastructure within the distillery. The infrastructure includes mechanical/electrical systems, distillery machinery, facilities, and grounds. The Maintenance Technician will ensure the plant operates at a reliable level for operations to achieve the highest efficiency and quality through support of systems controls, continuous improvement, and preventative and predictive maintenance.


Essential Functions

Time Allocation

  1. Major Responsibilities 90%


General Duties

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and quickly respond to equipment failures/breakdowns for entire facility.
  • Conduct metal work (welding, pipefitting, etc.) in for distillery operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, steam, and mechanical systems in industrial setting including distillery equipment, boilers, chillers, air compressors.
  • Maintain and repair material transfer systems such as bucket elevators, airlocks, and pneumatic receivers.
  • Install, repair, and maintain motors, pumps, blowers, and piping for distillery operations.
  • Troubleshoot general facility maintenance for operations, administration, and gift shop facilities.
  • Document work using a maintenance management software system.

Safety and Compliance

  • Abide by all EPA and OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Lock out Tag out Procedures.
  • Knowledge of Confined Space Work Procedures.
  • Knowledge of Hot Work Procedures.
  • Knowledge of Overhead Work Procedures.
  • Conducts job duties in a manner that demonstrates a strong food safety culture. which ensures the safety and quality of our products.

Qualifications

  • Strong problem-solving skills (RCA is desired)
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot distillery operations.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with industrial electricity.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, manuals, etc.
  1. Education and Experience
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • General knowledge of instrumentation and Industrial maintenance technology
  • Associate degree in engineering, applied science, industrial maintenance, electrical engineering or related field.
  • 1-2 years of industrial or distillery maintenance experience
  • Heavy knowledge of HVAC, boiler operations, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  1. Education and Experience – Preferred
  • Experience within the spirits industry.

  1. Supervisory Responsibility

The Maintenance Technician has no direct reports.

  1. Work Environment

This job operates both in the distillery and may require transportation to nearby locations to purchase supplies as needed.

  1. Travel

Travel may be required between Kentucky locations and to nearby vendors to purchase supplies as needed.

  1. Physical Demands
