Lube and Tire Technician Job Duties:
- Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; replacing parts and components as approved.
- Be able to mount and balance tires.
- Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
- Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing area in which you performed work.
- Verifies information on Repair Order (RO) matches vehicle they are working on – record VIN and License Plate and mileage; update records of any changes.
- Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; informing supervisor when/if repairs are needed.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Organizes work by reviewing daily requirements; checking and gathering supplies.
- Stores and retrieves vehicles by driving and parking vehicles.
- Secures vehicles by locking doors, windows, and trunks; observing and reporting suspicious persons and incidents.
- Maintains safe environment by watching out for pedestrian traffic; following standards and procedures; complying with traffic and driving regulations.
- Perform various business related errands for the business.
- Shuttle vehicles and customers as requested by supervisor.
- Pick up and return parts to vendors.
- Needs to be 30% productive measured by billable hours divided by hours worked.
- Required to attend Assigned Training classes assigned by supervisor.
- Currently are or agree to complete state inspector training course and receives license.
Lube and Tire Technician Skills and Qualifications:
Have or obtain 1 or more ASE certifications within 3 months of hire date, State inspector license within 3 months of hire date, Be able to lift 50 pounds, High Energy Level, Dependability, Persistence, Time Management, Punctuality and Attendance as outlined in employee handbook, Independence, Safety Management, Problem Solving, Dealing with Complexity, Analyzing Information, Equipment Maintenance, Decision Making, Reporting Research Results, Self-Motivated, Judgment, Results Driven, Quality Focus, Productivity.
