Duties and Responsibilities
- Hospitality-minded with an interest in fine dining cuisine and wine knowledge.
- Duties include, but not limited to, answering phones, making reservations, seating guests for proper dining room flow, serving drinks, completing side work, organizing and stocking host stand and serving as liaison with front desk and restaurant managers for guest needs.
- Be knowledgeable about local entertainment options.
- Open Table knowledge.
- Table numbers, section divisions and position knowledge.
- Keep a neat, groomed appearance as per The Allison guidelines.
- Be in proper, clean, well-maintained uniform at all times.
- Follow side-work directions and maintain restaurant in a clean, organized fashion.
- Stock host stand with needed supplies.
- Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per Jory and Oregon state health guidelines.
- Follow service guidelines through the complete meal service.
- Maintain service through closing.
- Serve as liaison with front desk and restaurant managers for guests’ needs and comments.
- Any additional duties assigned by management
Job Skills/Requirements/Qualifications
- Required experience: 1 year in a restaurant, stand-alone or hotel preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Open Table or reservation system preferred.
- An enthusiastic, positive demeanor and desire to provide exceptional guest service.
- Successfully pass a background investigation
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Possess an OLCC License
- Possess a Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of hire
Working conditions/Physical Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; up to an 8-hour shift or longer if required.
- Able to walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to navigate stairs and uneven surfaces.
- Ability to reach shelves overhead, carry menus, supplies, and work at a quick pace.
- Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
- Focus on one source of sound and ignore others.
- Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
- Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath.
- Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all team members by speaking clearly so listeners can understand, as well as understand the speech of another person.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
