Shift Leader

A Shift Leader is a professional in charge of providing direct supervision and ensuring everything runs smoothly during their shift-based job. The duties include covering for absences from coworkers and managing cash drops off by employees when they’re not working.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a team of warehouse associates during assigned shift.
• Ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving processes.
• Responsible for supporting the Site Manager in all day-to-day operations.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
• Collaborate with other shift leaders and management to improve operational processes.
• Train and develop team members on standard operating procedures.
• Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the shift.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Shift Leader or relevant managerial role.
• Knowledge of the industry and relevant health and safety regulations.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control practices.
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including working with carriers and 3PL providers.
• Proven ability to effectively manage a team, including scheduling, performance management, and coaching.
• Experience in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Knowledge of e-commerce operations is a plus.

Requirements and Skills

• Previous 2 years of experience as a Shift Supervisor or similar role.
• At least 2 years of forklift experience.
• Full understanding of industry safety standards.
• Comprehensive knowledge of basic software, such as Word and Excel.
• The ability to meet the physical demands of the job, such as standing up for long hours and lifting heavy loads occasionally.
• Working well within a team.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Leadership and conflict-management skills.
• High School Diploma. A degree in Management is a plus.
• Familiarity with AS400 or other warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Strong leadership abilities with the ability to effectively manage a team.
