Position scopeRoles & reponsiblities
- This candidate will be responsible for working with operations, planning, engineering, and mechanical groups to complete jobs to improve uptime and quality.
- Plan work orders entered by others, including but not limited to
- Adding missing information such as pictures, equipment information, measurements, etc.
- Researching parts needed and created a planned work order.
- Getting quotes for parts and materials needed.
- Enter purchase orders when needed in the CMMS.
- Order parts from Storeroom correctly.
- Tracking parts to ensure they arrive for the jobs as scheduled.
- Apply tags and put location information on work orders.
- Plan, manage, and complete work orders for daily work, routine outages, and annual mill outages.
- Oversee and evaluate the day-to-day backlog with Operations and the OMC by updating required by dates, job hours, job safety tasks, and job plans keeping the work orders constantly up-to-date.
- Create complete planned work packages for craftsmen that include any lockouts, permits, SOP’s, drawings / schematics, manuals, and job plan information.
- Maintain all parts in a kitting area by work order number or kit number listed on work order job plan which ensures craftsmen can find all parts needed to get the job done in a timely manner.
- Build a Bill of Materials (BOM) for every piece of equipment in your area ensuring that all parts needed have been added to the equipment and assigned a SCIMP number.
- Conduct proper follow through on all maintenance issues ensuring prints, parts, and job reviews are complete and acted upon.
- Order any non-stock materials, get them into the Storeroom inventory with a SCIMP number, and into CMMS.
- Attend and participate in planning and scheduling meetings.
- Attend and participate in training meetings.
- Help on floor when needed.
- Take part in on-call / weekend duty.
- Able to read drawings, schematics, and P&ID’s.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Strong mechanical background with a strong knowledge of mechanics and mechanical processes.
- Ability to work effectively with all groups of people, including unionized work force.
- Candidate needs to have strong communication skills, (i.e., interpersonal, written and verbal) to work closely with vendors, contractors, Accounting Department, and Procurement Departments.
- Desired computer skills are Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) CMMS experience
- Self-directed and motivated to complete special projects
- Able to multi-task efficiently under demanding circumstances
- Organized, attention to detail, and able to manage numerous documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology field desired, however 3-5 years equivalent work experience in the maintenance department in the Pulp & Paper Industry can be suitable.
- Most of the time will be spent working in the office on a computer, but there are times when you are needed on the floor to scope out jobs. The mill environment includes walking with stairs, and a hot, dusty environment.
- Includes following detailed mill safety and environmental procedures.
- Will also provide training to make sure the candidate is trained in Reliability Excellence initiatives such as work requests regarding the CMMS system.
- There is also room for advancement or changing of work area, if so desired. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.
