Job SummaryProvides additional support to New Student Programs initiatives and programs during key times of high volume and demand. Assists with preparation for orientation sessions, including deliverable creation and resource management. Additionally, assists with execution of orientation sessions, including program oversight and troubleshooting. Offers administrative and technical support for the New Student Programs office as needed.
This is a limited term internship program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
1. Assists with the preparation process for office programs, including creating deliverables (such as participant nametags) and managing resources (such as tents, tablecloths, etc.)
2. Serves as an office representative at programs, providing excellent customer service to program participants, overseeing program activities, and troubleshooting issues that arise
3. Supports the student staff team as needed, including conducting feedback collection interviews with student staff members
4. Plans, coordinates, reviews, and generates reports for assessment efforts, as directed by the office
5. Develops and shares presentations on behalf of the office to internal and external clients
6. Supports related program planning meetings and student staff trainings
7. Liaison with internal and external clients supporting office programs
8. Accesses and updates program participant information, including protected student data, to assist with new students with signing up and participating in programs
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field.
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
On-the-job training provided
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Active enrollment in a higher education graduate program
Active participation in the NODA Internship Program
Preferred Experience
Previous or current experience in a higher education internship or assistantship

Able to devise, develop, collect and analyze statistical information and reports
Able to make administrative and/or procedural decisions and judgments
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrated experience with orientation and similar higher education programs
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
