Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the Writing Center Coordinator and efforts of the Writing Center for Albany State University’s East and West Campuses and the online Center environment, while also providing varied guiding support for Writing Center assigned student workers. The unique needs of each student contribute to the complexity of the position. Success in this position contributes to the successful education of students and to compliance with accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
    Supports the day-to-day operations of the Writing Center. Provides varied guiding support for the work of tutoring personnel and assigned student workers. Tutors students in Writing. Conducts orientation sessions for classes. Provides resources for midterm and final exam preparation. Assists in the selection and maintenance of materials and equipment Assists in maintaining the orderliness of the Writing Center. Aids in coordinating scheduling, coverage, and duties of Center, Peer Tutoring, and Tutoring on Demand (TOD) platform for Writing Center representation. Aids in coordinating Center and office hours for both East and West Campuses and hours for Tutoring on Demand (TOD) platform. Aids in performing tasks related to tracking, data collection, and reporting, utilizing student information systems (SIS) such as Banner and EAB. Serves on assigned committees and task forces. Performs related duties as assigned, to include coverage of duties assigned to the Writing Center Coordinator and Assistant in their absence.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English (Writing/Composition) or related field

1 year of experience in Teaching/Tutoring

Proposed Salary

Salary range is from $32,230 to $42,230
