Pay: $25 - $35 Position Type: Temp to hire, Direct Hire Location: Elgin, IL Shift: 2nd shift: 6:00am - 2:00pm Requirements: Resume, Interview, BG, DT POSITION OVERVIEW This is the mid-level position and requires either extensive experience outside of the company on multi-slide progressive dies or complete competence with the company in the “1” classification set-up position. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Determines that all equipment is operating in a safe manner at all times. Able to competently perform all the responsibilities shown on the position description for punch press set-up “1”. Also knowledgeable of stations of the dies. Capable of reading piece part prints as well as prints pertaining to punches. Competent in the use of all quality control inspection equipment as indicated in the “1” level position. In addition, able to operate shadowgraphs or similar pieces. Capable of receiving punches from the tool control area, placing the dies into the press and producing acceptable parts in the standard time with a minimum of supervision. Able to display independent judgment in regards to machine problems and adjustments as they affect either quality or production. Acts as a resource to the “1” level set-up personnel to further their personal development. Maintains housekeeping and safety standards throughout the production area. Qualified to operate a forklift truck. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Unless an internal candidate previously tested, able to successfully pass a standardized mechanical understanding test and spatial relation test. Multiple years of hands-on experience in the set-up of progressive, multi-slide dies producing close tolerance piece parts. Able to effectively use all standard inspection equipment found in die shop such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, shadow graphs. Flexibility of working hours. May be required to work extensive hours or days per week. Able to be actively on feet. Possesses sufficient physical strength to be able to move dies or parts into presses. Must be able to read, write, and perform light clerical duties pertaining to product or quality. Certified to operate forklift equipment. Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of employees.
