Title: Digital / Web Content Intern

About Us:
In support of US Sailing's mission to increase sailing participation and excellence through education, competition, and equal opportunity, the Website Content Intern is responsible for aid in the development and maintenance of the US Sailing website(s). This role requires a detail-oriented professional with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and new technology. A successful Website Content Intern will work well independently and as part of a team with department representatives to create a consistent and compelling website for US Sailing. The Website Content Intern will work with the Web Manager and Marketing Department to provide a consistent and accurate voice for US Sailing content across the organization's website and digital channels.
Responsibilities:
  • Aid in design, develop and maintain new and existing websites, templates, microsites and individual web pages within a Wordpress platform.
  • Test and troubleshoot code defects and deploy timely fixes as well as ensure that all design elements and templates work within a variety of browser types and screen settings.
  • Participate in efforts to improve the quality and consistency of website content, layout & design
  • Image creation and optimization for website channels.
  • Research and implement social media tools and technologies to enhance website and connect to US Sailing digital channels.
  • Work with Web Manager, Communications Manager and Marketing Department to create a consistent and compelling visual style and voice across all US Sailing's websites.
  • Compile social media posts, articles from the website, and articles from the general media landscape into an internal news email for executives and the board, for them to keep up with all the news happening at US Sailing and the US Sailing Team
Requirements:
  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is a plus
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
