SUMMARY: Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Ensures all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS), ISO and AS Standards are being met as required.
  • Responsible for conducting Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Internal Audits, and Management Reviews.
  • Responsible for ensuring all 3rd party registar and customer audits are successfully completed and closed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for compiling and reporting all quality related metrics in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for managing the quality team and providing daily direction and coaching as necessary.
  • Collaborates as the quality team lead with all AirBorn functional groups.
  • Works directly with customers to successfully solve quality related concerns and/or quality related activities.
  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
  • May conduct vendor visits to insure quality. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESRequires knowledge typically acquired through:
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university,
  • Five to ten years related experience or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints form customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
  • Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of the theorems.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
