Are you a college student eager to launch your sales and event marketing career? Join GEM Plumbing and Heating as an Outside Branding, Marketing & Sales Intern

Position Overview

As a Marketing Intern at GEM Plumbing and Heating, you will play a vital role in supporting our events calendar, driving engagement, and fostering the growth of our brand across the Northeast region. This position requires a commitment primarily on weekends, with additional responsibilities spanning from Wednesday to Sunday evenings. The internship will run from April to September, with an expected commitment of 15-20 hours per week. This in-person role is based in Rhode Island and involves regular travel to support events and community partnerships across the state.

Essential Job Functions

  • Represent the GEM Plumbing and Heating brand at events, educating attendees on our plumbing and heating services, products, and expertise.
  • Assist in developing and executing unique event strategies tailored to showcase our services, creating memorable experiences for attendees through branded giveaways, informative materials, and engaging presentations.
  • Create print materials and collateral aligned with our brand identity, highlighting our range of services, special offers, and customer testimonials.
  • Manage logistics for event materials, including transportation, and loading/unloading equipment, ensuring smooth setup and breakdown of event displays.
  • Research and identify events aligned with our target audience, focusing on home improvement expos, community fairs, and events catering to homeowners and property managers.
  • Help coordinate and manage over 50 events during the summer, including Food Truck events.
  • Drive, set up, hand out materials and promotional items, and collect sales leads at Food Truck events.
  • Attend weekly sales staff meetings to collaborate and refine event marketing and sales strategies.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Interest in marketing, particularly in the context of home services and construction industries.
  • Pursuing studies in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • Availability on weekends and occasional weekday evenings is essential.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
