Our collaboration with Samsung at their semiconductor site in Taylor, Texas showcases our commitment to excellence and cutting-edge technology in the telecom space.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated CAD Designer to support our BIM Engineer in the design, planning, and installation phases of our projects. The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating accurate shop drawings and providing essential support to ensure the success of our telecommunications infrastructure projects. This position is onsite in Taylor, Texas at the Samsung Semiconductor Facility.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsibilities:
  1. 2D and 3D Modeling: Assist the BIM Engineers in the creation of 2D and 3D models using software such as AutoCAD.
  2. Shop Drawings: Generate detailed shop drawings for telecommunications infrastructure components, including cable trays, Cat 5, and Cat 6 cabling systems.
  3. Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to accurately represent design intent and requirements.
  4. Collaboration with BIM Engineer: Work closely with the BIM Engineers to understand project requirements and assist in resolving design issues.
  5. Cable Tray Layout: Assist in modeling cable trays and determining optimal placement based on project requirements and cable routing.
  6. Clash Detection: Support clash detection efforts by identifying and resolving conflicts with electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
  7. Construction Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the construction team, including construction managers, master electricians, and change management personnel, to ensure project success.

Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in relevant field preferred.
    • Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD
    • Basic understanding of telecommunications infrastructure components and cable routing principles.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with clash detection processes and procedures is a plus.
    • Previous experience in a CAD design role or relevant internship experience preferred.
    • Strong communication skills and ability interact with various stakeholders
