Position Summary:

The QC Technician is the first eye for FHE, making sure that the new incoming machined parts meet all of FHE's product specifications, before being placed in FHE's Inventory. This position is also responsible for ensuring that FHE's measuring equipment is calibrated at correct intervals while checking precision measuring equipment on a daily basis to ensure they are still in calibration.

Job Description/Expectations:

Maintain work area to be clean, organized, and safe following 5S standards

Conduct oneself in a professional manner that represents a positive image of FHE

Must attend work as established by employer without excess absenteeism

Preview initial receiving paperwork for new items, ensuring quantity shipped equals quantity received.

Ensure that the paperwork matches the item description.

Measure items and compare to drawing for accuracy

Verify that the component meets required material specifications

Verify heat numbers and stamps are correct

Communicate with Vendors/Suppliers as needed.

Complete Quality Control Test Form/Documents

Maintain NCR Quarantine Zone / NCR Reports

Organize and prioritize "MTR's"

Perform daily calibration checks on precision measuring equipment

Perform assigned preventive maintenance duties

Any other duties as assigned, based on business needs and supervisor/manager request.

Ensure that quantity shipped equals quantity received

Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:

Compiling, checking and recording information

Communication proficiency, organizational skills, mathematical skills, thoroughness, time management

Read, write and communicate clearly in English

Ability to carry out work or lead in the absence of supervisor

Good decision-making skills with ability to work under pressure

Troubleshooting and analytical skills needed

Tools and Equipment Used:

May be required to operate a forklift, maneuver parts at times, operate overhead crane, sanders, grinders, generators, wrenches, common hand and power tools.

Environmental Conditions and Work Environment:

Exposure to certain contaminants, at times.

Exposure to loud noise levels, at times.

This position works in a warehouse setting ,with outdoor exposure during the workday

This role may use standard office equipment such as computers, tablets, phones, copiers, etc., and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, etc.

Physical demands:

This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials

The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel toed boots, gloves, helmets, and hearing protections is utilized daily.

Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds without physical restrictions.
