POSITION SUMMARY

The incumbent in this position is responsible for serving food and beverages in accordance with company standards and maintaining exceptional guest service standards. This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Recognize guests immediately with a friendly greeting and informs them of daily specials.
  • Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner.
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.
  • Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for all overages and shortages.
  • Assist and ensure that the slot players understand how to utilize the casino beverage system available on all slot machine as well as assist guests with beverages, demonstrating salesmanship with complete menu and product knowledge.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction through responsiveness to guest complaints.
  • Maintain a well-groomed neat and clean appearance, carrying out duties with attention to sanitation safety.
  • Anticipate, identify, and provide for guest needs.
  • Perform side work duties on daily basis and other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must have ability to:

  • Transport trays throughout the casino which may weigh up to 50 pounds, as well as serve beverages.
  • Review and comprehend any necessary documentation.
  • Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.
  • Stand throughout an eight-hour shift.
  • Effectively and efficiently move throughout the casino and service bar areas.
  • Retrieve supplies and maintain a clean working area.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members alike.
  • Work in an environment that has varying levels of smoke, crowds, and noise the severity of which depends upon guest volume.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years of age.

Familiarity with beverage and wine service. Knowledge of casino operations etiquette. These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two (2) years table/beverage service experience.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
  • Maintain required industry training.
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
  • Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
  • Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.
