Army Financial Audit Consultant

cBEYONData is looking for an experienced consultant to aid our clients in improving audit efforts within the command. Our consultants work closely with our clients to understand the mission and strategic objectives to ensure the systems are designed to meet their audit business needs.

The consultant will help our functional experts navigate a complex and changing business landscape. Our consultants solve our client's complex issues by learning the intricacies of the problem set at hand, the client's objectives, and the operational environment in which results must be implemented in order to create holistic solutions with high impact. The consultant will work on a multi-disciplinary team that has direct partnerships with end-users within the command and stakeholders within Army. This is a fast-changing role that evolves based on the client's need, while prioritizing process improvements within the command/Army and actively supporting operational needs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform audit duties using GAAP/ICOFR principals/internal control processes
• Provide advice, assistance, training, and guidance on DOD financial processes to include, funds control, budgeting, audit compliance and related information
• Develop and present schedules and action plans related to audit readiness activities
• Assist in the development of white papers related to financial accounting and auditing standards
• Provide internal audit infrastructure and/or business process support
• Develop and train on FIP, FIAR and MICP, POAM, CAP, existing internal controls, and reinforce sustainment
• Provide assistance in collection, loading and internal/external audits, exams, and assessments

Requirements:

• Five to seven (5-7) years of DoD accounting or auditing experience
• In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP/ICOFR)
• Knowledge of internal controls related to financial reporting
• Knowledge of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars A-123, A-134, A-136 and other OMB policies;
• Knowledge of DoD and Army financial management policies and procedures; systems, and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property, and material management.
• Knowledge of Army policies, systems, and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property and material management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Expertise with GFEBS, GFEBS-SA, DAI, GCSS-Army, MOCAS, EDA, Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), the Defense Travel System (DTS) and the GTC/GPC programs and systems
• BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or equivalent 7-10 years' experience and a minimum of 24 credits in audit/accounting IF degree is not in accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
• Active Secret clearance required
