RNL Field Managers have a high degree of responsibility and control over their homesites, he/she leads the selection and monitoring of trade partners and suppliers and the scheduling in the construction of our homes; from site preparation to final homeowner orientation with the homebuyer. We recruit and select only the most passionate and talented residential new home building professionals. The Field Manager applies the knowledge, skills and experience required to manage the day-to-day field operations of new-home construction projects. The Field Manager is responsible for establishing a professional work environment that includes: fostering a positive atmosphere, promoting proactive and effective communication, minimizing conflict by facilitating problem solving in a constructive manner. The primary focus of the Field Manager is to execute managerial and leadership skills necessary to accomplish the work by means of trade contractors and managing day-today issues. - Manage daily construction activities
- Consult with architects, engineers, builders, design specialist , trade contractors, and clients on plan revisions and change orders.
- Daily walk-throughs. Take complete responsibility for keeping sites tidy during construction and schedule municipal inspections.
- Explain safety practices to field employees and trade contractors, and monitor compliance.
- Guide and direct field employees, trade contractors, and suppliers. Assist trade contractors with tasks, when necessary.
- Explain quality control standards and supervise their implementation. Ensure homes are built to excellent quality standards. Strive for no-defect construction.
- Keep operations manager and sales staff informed of each homes production status. Update construction schedule and produce weekly production reports.
- Material and supply ordering and scheduling of deliveries. Receive, inspect, and verify all deliveries. Check vendor and trade contractor invoices. Authorize payments.
- Notify trade contractors and material suppliers far enough in advance to assure materials are delivered and trade contractors arrive on a timely manner.
- Communicate with customers on jobsites. Answer their questions and ensure that construction meets their expectations.
- Conduct pre-closing homeowner orientations with customers and sales professionals. Coordinate punch list work.
- Create and maintain a culture that values safety, health and cleanliness.
- Conduct and/or attend pre-construction, progress and other project and staff meetings.
- Manage changes in project scope to ensure that the most contemporary contract documents are being used at all times to prevent avoidable rework.
- Participate and encourage staff to seek out life-long learning opportunities and professional development.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in residential home building.
- A demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with the construction of new homes.
- Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, email and other software used in the construction industry.
- Must have reliable transportation and current drivers license
- Construction: 3 years
