Daycare Cook

The VGM Child Care Center and the Community United Child Care Centers and Preschool on Nordic Drive is looking for someone who enjoys preparing and cooking healthy meals for tiny humans in our infant, toddler, and pre-K classrooms! In addition to preparing meals and snacks, you will have the opportunity to work with some great kiddos inside the classroom. If preparing and cooking meals and snacks sounds overwhelming, rest assured, we offer ample training to the right individual to set them up for success. There is no menu planning or shopping involved. You simply prepare the meals outlined in our weekly menus and complete inventory as directed.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals/snacks for children and staff. Distribute food to the classrooms following
• appropriate health and safety guidelines and company policies
• Follow the daily menu provided by the organization
• Ensure all meals and snacks follow USDA guidelines
• Complete USDA paperwork daily
• Ensure that each meal and snack is ready to be served when scheduled
• Maintain an orderly, clean and safe kitchen area at all times
• Assist in classrooms as needed as a Floater
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably
• in a childcare facility.
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old or older
• Time management and good communication skills, both written and oral
• Must be able to complete some basic math for USDA paperwork
• Must have a love for children
• Be willing to have fun while working
• Must be able to pass a background check

Time and Compensation:

• Hours: 7:00am-2:00pm
• Compensation: $12.00 -$13.25 per hour
