Heavy Equipment Operator

Mahaffey Enterprises, INC is a reputable excavation company in the Tri-Cities and has been in business for over 70 years. We are searching for qualified Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. We have many projects in the in the private sector as well as some Prevailing Wage opportunities.

Job Purpose:
To operate various heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders & scrapers safely & efficiently.

Duties:

• Operates heavy equipment for construction including earthwork, moving materials, and any site cleanup such as loading trucks for exporting materials and stockpiling.
• Prepares heavy equipment by conducting operator inspections, performing preventive maintenance checks.
• Prepares work by studying and clarifying instructions, diagrams and plans; calculating requirements; gathering supplies if needed.
• Accomplishes work by operating equipment; observing varying conditions; adjusting equipment controls.
• Maintains safe and secure work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Keeps heavy equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; calling for repairs.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
• Accomplishes operations and organization duties by completing related results as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:
Must have at least 2+ years' experience operating equipment.

Salary: $25.00 per hour and up based on experience

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Construction: 2 years (Required)
• Heavy Equipment Operater: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
