Job Description
DMF Lighting designs, manufactures and distributes residential and commercial downlighting that is easy to specify and intuitively simple. An engineering driven company, DMF stands out for our forward-thinking industrial design, responsive service, and deliverability of product.
We are looking for a Lighting Designer to work with our team in creating lighting layouts and lighting recommendations for projects. This ideal candidate will have experience using CAD, be self-motivated, possess the ability to read architectural/interior design/landscape sets to understand the spaces and better tailor the lighting designs to the clients needs.
Job Requirements:
- Analyze current lighting layout plans and determine how to optimize the layout
- Create lighting layout recommendation for projects with no lighting plan
- Prepare presentations and information packet for design team, highlighting design intent and product specifications
- Consult on lighting projects with architects and distributors
- Consult on lighting recommendations for homeowners
- Create exterior lighting design package for design team, highlighting design intent and product specifications
Skills:
- Proficient with AutoCAD design software
- Experience with AGI photometric software
- Understands IES lighting requirements,
- Knowledgeable with lighting specifications including photometry, CCT, CRI, footcandles, lumens
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint, In Design
-Proficient in Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu
- Good communication skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with our customers, other departments within the company via phone and email.
- Great attention to detail
- Able to read and understand architectural, interior design and electrical plans
- Time management to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Experience and Education
- College diploma and higher is preferred
- Experience with lighting design in the commercial and residential lighting industry is desirable.
- Understanding of Lighting Design process
