We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator with expertise in operating crawler cranes to join our pipe yard team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety protocols, exceptional operational skills, and a proven track record of efficiently handling large equipment in a pipe yard environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate Crawler Crane: Safely and efficiently operate crawler cranes to lift, move, and position pipes and other materials within the yard.
  2. Load and Unload: Load and unload pipes from trucks and other transport vehicles using the crane, ensuring secure attachment and safe handling procedures.
  3. Material Handling: Transport pipes and other materials to designated areas within the yard, adhering to specified instructions and safety guidelines.
  4. Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the crane equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
  5. Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and procedures at all times to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  6. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with supervisors, colleagues, and truck drivers to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.
  7. Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of crane operations, including the materials handled, hours worked, and any incidents or near-misses encountered.
  8. Training and Assistance: Provide guidance and assistance to other team members as needed, particularly in the safe handling of materials and equipment.
  9. Emergency Response: Act swiftly and responsibly in the event of emergencies or equipment malfunctions, following established protocols and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Experience: Experience operating crawler cranes, preferably in a pipe yard or similar industrial setting.
  2. License/Certification: Valid crane operator certification/license (if required by local regulations) and a solid understanding of crane safety practices.
  3. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy materials, and working in various weather conditions.
  4. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and accuracy in all operations.
  5. Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  6. Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed to meet project deadlines or address emergencies.
  7. Communication Skills: Clear and effective verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and convey information accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with Pipe Handling: Previous experience handling pipes or similar materials in an industrial setting.
  2. Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor equipment issues and performing routine maintenance tasks.
