Shipping/Receiving Supervisor

Position Summary: Shipping/Receiving Supervisor

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated shipping manager to oversee our company's shipping operations. You will be processing shipment orders, monitoring the packaging, and labeling of completed orders, and evaluating the performance of carriers and shipping department employees.

To ensure success as a shipping manager, you should exhibit extensive knowledge of logistics and demonstrable experience in a similar role. A first-class shipping manager will be someone whose shipping expertise translates into smooth and cost-effective shipping services

This position will report directly to General Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

· Supervising material handlers and CDL drivers

· Negotiating the price of shipment transportation with carriers.

· Keeping shipping operations within budget without compromising speed or efficiency.

· Scheduling/monitoring product and trucks based on customer due date

· Processing shipment documentation and inspecting completed orders.

· Creating and implementing shipping policies and procedures.

· Training, and supervising shipping and CDL drivers’.

· Acting as a liaison between management, carriers, customer service and shipping customers.

· Collaborating with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.

· Documenting processes and reporting to management as required.

· Evaluating carrier performance and resolving issues with orders and logistics.

· Complying to shipping industry regulations and company policies (DOT Regulations)

· Monitor/audit inventory for accuracy as needed on all customer inventories.

· Scheduling/maintaining maintenance on all tractors and trailers.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to work around moving and vibrating equipment while exposed to noise

· Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a constant and/or frequent basis

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, reach on a constant and/or frequent basis

· Ability to operate a forklift

Job Qualifications:

· Experience in logistics, supply chain management, or similar preferred.

· Proficiency in ERP software, such as Amtech preferred

· In-depth knowledge of logistics and shipping documentation.

· Knowledge of shipping industry regulations.

· Advanced analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
