Senior Data Scientist

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer with interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to join our innovative development team. As a pivotal member of our organization, you will be at the forefront of architecting, developing, and optimizing cutting-edge software solutions that harness the power of AI and ML technologies. In this role, you will contribute significantly to the advancement of our products, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the dynamic and evolving field of AI/ML.

As a Software Engineer with AI/ML interest, you will play a critical role in crafting the underlying software infrastructure for sophisticated machine learning algorithms. Your contribution will extend beyond the realm of AI, encompassing the full spectrum of software development. From designing scalable architecture to writing efficient and maintainable code, you will be a key player in delivering high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities: 

  • AI/ML Solution Development:
    - Design, develop, and implement robust frameworks for AI/ML algorithms and models to solve complex business problems.
    - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML components into software applications and systems.
  • Software Development:
    - Contribute to the full software development life cycle, from requirements analysis to design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
    - Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
    - Develop high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
    - Contribute to the development of software architecture, ensuring scalability, modularity, and extensibility.
  • Performance Optimization:
    - Optimize and enhance existing AI/ML frameworks for improved efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
    - Conduct thorough performance analysis and implement optimizations to meet specified performance goals.
  • Collaboration and Documentation:
    - Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
    - Document code, algorithms, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, data structures, and statistical models.
  • Familiarity with software development tools, version control systems, and agile methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills & Experience: 

  • Proven experience in software development with a focus on AI/ML applications.
  • Experience with popular ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • Database development and use for machine learning and big data applications

Education:  A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline is required

Clearance: A Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

Travel: Travel to the Dahlgren, VA office for the occasional meeting.

Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.  

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
