Purchasing Manager $95-110K plus excellent benefits and growth opportunities! Job Overview: We're seeking a dynamic Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations at a well-respected manufacturing company north of Syracuse, NY. As a key member of the team, you'll oversee all purchasing activities, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and optimal supply chain performance. Key Responsibilities:Lead the procurement of raw materials, standard and custom parts, and facility requirements efficiently and economically. Provide training and guidance to the purchasing team on processes, tools, and best practices. Execute cost reduction projects according to annual plans. Conduct employee evaluations and develop individual development plans. Act as a primary contact for escalated operational issues such as late deliveries and quality concerns. Monitor and improve the "on-time to operation" metric and implement other KPIs as needed. Optimize inventory levels to balance On-Time Delivery (OTD) with working capital efficiency. Ensure adherence to purchase order guidelines by the team. Develop and implement sourcing strategies, ensuring timely action on Change Communication forms. Support efforts to reduce lead times for specific products. Maintain item master data integrity and alignment with business unit requirements. Communicate supplier needs and issues to the sourcing team. Attend weekly/monthly production and global purchasing meetings as required. Collaborate closely with site leadership on production needs. Requirements:Minimum of 8 years of procurement experience in an engineered component/manufacturing environment. At least 5 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP-based purchasing systems. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
