Are you a skilled Network Security Engineer looking to take your career to the next level? iSphere, one of Houston's leading IT companies, is seeking a talented individual to join our client as a full-time employee. As a Network Security Engineer at iSphere, you will play a crucial role in researching, implementing, and administering cutting-edge network security solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to research, design, test, evaluate, and select network solutions to safeguard and fortify the infrastructure.
- Deploy and manage network equipment, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Monitor networks and security systems, identifying vulnerabilities, attacks, and security issues and promptly alerting relevant parties.
- Recommend and implement security policies and procedures to uphold industry standards.
- Provide high-level troubleshooting and issue resolution support.
Competencies Required:
- Proven track record in managing and resolving complex network technical issues.
- Expertise in security configurations, log analysis, intrusion detection, and mitigation.
- In-depth knowledge of network security practices, systems, and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Cisco platforms.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- At least 3 years of network or systems administration experience.
- Cisco Security or similar technologies preferred.
- Additional experience in SIEM, VA, IPS, Cloud Security, Routing and Switching, Vulnerability Management, CASB, Python, or Automation/Orchestration is a plus.
- Background in financial services or banking industry is advantageous.
Formal Education & Certification:
- Cisco systems certification preferred.
Travel:
- Limited travel required.
