Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Portfolio Management establishes trusted relationship with assigned strategic pillar leadership and acts as liaison to ensure the delivery of assigned projects/programs. The position supports EPMO leadership in managing the day-to-day execution of programs/projects.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the planning process for assigned portfolio collaborating with IT, business, Enterprise Architecture and creating portfolio roadmap
  • Support Director, Portfolio Management in prioritization of initiatives, risk, issues, etc. that require attention
  • Integrates continuous improvement and innovation into all projects and programs for the assigned strategic pillar
  • Partner with EPMO Governance, Business, Legal (Compliance/Regulatory) and IT teams to ensure compliance, on time delivery and operational readiness of projects/programs for the assigned portfolio
  • Become a subject matter expert in the assigned portfolio
  • Represent assigned portfolio in portfolio committees
  • Oversee gathering and prioritization of business and technical requirements for assigned portfolio of projects
  • Accountable for periodic review and assessment of project and portfolio artifacts for completeness, quality, and Audit readiness.
  • Responsible for coaching team members and ensuring corrective actions are completed on time
  • Oversee implementation of risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and stakeholder communication for project portfolio
  • Ensure rapid resolution or timely escalation of issues, blockers, and hindrances using company best practices
  • Oversee and support managers, program managers and project managers with the control of scope, budget and schedule through standard change control practices
  • Responsible for resource estimation and optimization, financial forecast and actuals tracking
  • Support building and managing EPMO portfolio budget
  • Supports hiring, training, coaching, completing performance appraisals and disciplinary actions, driving motivation, collaboration, and performance for all direct reports
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • Master's degree is preferred
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive work experience to include at least seven (7) years of driving large strategic initiatives, five (5) years management experience, and five (5) years of experience driving systemic innovation and improvement is required
  • Computer Science background or work experience in Health Care business domain or application development preferred

  • Leading large scale cross functional transformational programs with multiple work streams
  • Implementation of health insurance products and/or markets including service area changes
  • Onboarding new lines of business including those acquired with merger/acquisition
  • Exceptional planning, negotiating and influencing skillset
  • Exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Excellent critical listening and systematic thinking skills
  • Excellent decision making/problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of health care subject areas, to include member and provider services, health plan operations, clinical management, and product lines, is required
  • Proven ability to effectively interact at all organizational levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in analysis and collaboration skills
  • Hands on proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Business acumen and politically astute-ability to act with diplomacy and sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Leadership experience and skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic self-starter, time management skills
  • Outcome and Customer service oriented

Licensure and Certification:

  • PMP preferred

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

Compensation Range:
$108,600.00 - $190,000.00 CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate's education, training, and experience as well as the position's scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level.
