Job Summary:

Maguire Family Insurance is seeking Licensed Insurance Professionals to join a growing agency in the Syracuse NY area. This position pays a weekly salary plus a commission plan.

As an Insurance Producer you will implement marketing strategies to develop a strong network of prospective clients. You will develop leads and contact them via the phone and face-to-face to market insurance products. You will service existing clients and conduct annual reviews and seek opportunities to present products to enhance their insurance portfolio.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties as assigned)

  • Primary responsibility is to write New Business
  • Ability to network and develop leads following the Maguire Family Insurance Sales Process.
  • Use lead lists to establish contact and schedule appointments
  • Meet with prospective clients
  • Meet with existing clients to perform annual reviews
  • Must conduct phone prospecting, face-to-face prospecting and through social media efforts
  • Conduct sales presentation with the intent of selling an insurance product
  • Provide claim assistance to clients
  • Solicit referrals from clients
  • Engage Dealership customers in the following areas to establish leads for quoting:
    1. Tele-market Maguire Customers: gather and organize customer data via auto base (the dealership group’s customer database) and make a minimum of 20 outgoing phone calls a day with a goal of 10 live contacts and 3-4 quotes per day.
    2. Web and Incoming Call Leads: follow up immediately to quote them.
  • Create and Complete New Business Files and Checklists to upload into Agency Management system
  • Any other assigned tasks or processes that are implemented.
  • Work hard, stay organized, and follow up to achieve your personal and Agencies production goals that are set forth in the LSP Pay Plan.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Licensed Property and Casualty in NY
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multitasked environment.
  • Must have the ability to act and perform exemplary work independently.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work productively in a fast paced, stressful environment.
  • Must speak clearly on the telephone and convey an image of professionalism and competence to callers.

Equipment, Machines and Software Used:

  • Computer software: Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists.

Physical Exertion:

  • Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Light exertion can involve sitting, walking and/or standing most of the time.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office setting.
  • Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required.

  • Hazards: Slips, trips and falls, ergonomic injuries, and occasional lifting.
  • Safety Precautions: Breaks are encouraged to allow for stretching and training is provided covering slips, trips, and falls, safe lifting and stretching techniques.
