Security Officer 1 (PRN)

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our security division at Valor Protection Security Agency (VPSA). The Security Officer 1 (PRN) is responsible for safeguarding client's business property, staff, and environment by keeping the location secure. VPSA offers security services in various industries including but not limited to Hospitality, Retail, Healthcare, Education, Government, Event Security, and Commercial Property.

WEEKEND AVAILABILITY REQUIRED (PRN)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides a visible deterrence to crime, prohibited activities, or suspicious activities in public and non-public areas which may include, but are not limited to, areas such as the main building, outlying buildings, grounds, parking areas.
• Responds quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations. Verbally intervenes during crisis. This includes the functional ability to quickly grasp various situations, develop rapport with upset people, and understand when people are or are not processing information, and be supportive or directive as needed.
• Escorts persons and assists client personnel. Is constantly alert and vigilant for activities which could result in injury to a person or damage to or loss of property.
• Communicates effectively with diverse people including clients or their representatives, client employees, visitors, or client vendors.
• Comprehends and executes written or verbal instructions. Writes accurate, clear, and legible reports via electronic device.
• Maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers, client staff members and other client vendors.
• Maintains a functional knowledge of a facility and, where applicable, of multiple facilities.
• Enforces and abides by all policies and guidelines of the client and VPSA.
• Performs other duties at the direction of the Security Supervisor and/or any other recognized leadership personnel.

Required Qualifications:

• Must work a minimum of 3 shifts within 30 days or be auto terminated.  
• Must hold all the same credentials and certifications as FTE. 
• Must be on-call available 4 weekend days/month.  
• Must attend a VPSA Team Meeting every 60 days.  
• Availability should be completed no later than 2-weeks before the beginning of the month. 
  
• Availability should be completed in 30-day increments, or monthly. 
• PRNs may be required to arrive before the designated shift time to run through logistics at the site before the shift actually begins. 
• Once availability is set for the month, it cannot be changed. 

Preferred Requirements:

• Must be 18 years old
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• High School Diploma Preferred
• 1 – 2 years of Security Experience Preferred
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
• Law Enforcement or Military Background
• Reliable Transportation/Valid driver's license

• Excellent Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Control Skills
• Excellent Leadership Skills – Comfortable Directing People
• Have Basic Georgia Unarmed Security Officer Certification or willing to obtain prior to start date
• Outstanding Time Management and Critical Thinking Skills
• Proficiency with Computers, aptitude to learn new software and systems
