Equipment Operator I Department: Pronghorn Operations FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly Grade/Level: Operator Job Type: Regular Work Schedule: 12-Hour Shift Job Status: Full Time Reports To: Logistics Supervisor Amount of Travel Required: None Positions Supervised: None POSITION SUMMARY With limited supervision, responsible for conveyor belt and equipment operation at the frac site. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Essential Functions Statement(s) 1. Reviews daily work plan with supervisor. 2. Assists site crew with mobilization of conveyor systems. 3. Monitors and controls automated conveyor belt system that conveys containers and/or silos of sand to the wellhead for frac process. 4. Presses buttons and turns dials to start conveyor system and regulate speed of conveyor system. 5. Observes containers and/or silos moving on and off conveyors, or observes lights on control panel to monitor flow and operation of system. 6. Stops equipment and clears jams, using hand tools. 7. Coordinates loading of containers and/or silos on to conveyor system with site supervisor and forklift operator. 8. Coordinates removal of empty containers and/or silos with site supervisor and forklift operator. 9. Observes operation to detect equipment malfunction and informs supervisor when malfunction occurs. 10. Ensures containers and/or silos unloaded at wellhead are recorded accurately in the tracking system or manually logged. 11. May perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment or inspect equipment prior to start-up and record equipment condition and any maintenance performed. 12. Assist with general site housekeeping before leaving location POSITION QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: 1. High School Diploma or GED preferred 2. Sufficient education to complete written documentation and records; or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills and characteristics. Must be able to read and interpret work plans and orders, use simple math, and use basic hand held measuring tools Experience & Skills: 1. 2+ Years’ Experience of conveyor system operation or comparable experience along with prior experience operating small equipment, such as forklifts and skid steers. 2. Previous oilfield or drilling site operations experience is preferred. 3. Basic maintenance skills (check fluids, filters, etc) 4. Basic computer skills required 5. Must be able to communicate effectively, using both written and spoken forms of communication. 6. Must be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision. 7. Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays. 8. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full time basis and be at least 18 years of age. 9. Must have high safety standard for self and others. 10. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others Certifications & Licenses: 1. Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record within past five years for insurance carrier coverage Physical Demands: (Frequently) Position requires carrying, pushing, pulling 65 pounds of weight from 66% of the time (8+ hrs./day) Other Physical Requirements: 1. Regularly required to sit or stand, reach and move about the site/facility. 2. Frequently lift 65 lbs. or more. 3. Frequently climbs ladders and stairs. Work Environment: 1. Work performed in a well site environment. Exposure to inclement weather as most work will be performed outside. Personal Protective Equipment: 1. Safety glasses, hard hat and steel toe boots must be worn at all times. 2. Auditory and fall protection applicable when required.
