Barista

Job Summary:

Spot Coffee Niagara Falls is seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Barista to join our team on a part-time hourly basis. As a Barista, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional coffee and customer service to our patrons. This individual will have a passion for coffee and a desire to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our guests. This position is located in Niagara Falls, New York.

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an individual contributor role and the compensation for this position ranges from $15 to $20 per hour, paid on a weekly basis. Employees will receive free coffee and discounted employee meals during their shifts and will have the opportunity to enroll in healthcare programs, as well as paid sick leave.  

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other specialty beverages in a timely manner
• Ensure quality and consistency of all products served to customers
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment according to health and safety standards
• Handle cash and maintain drawer accuracy during shift
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and addressing any questions or concerns
• Follow all company policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation regulations
• Upsell and promote food and beverage items to customers
• Assist with food preparation and presentation as needed
• Stock and replenish coffee and food items as needed
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all menu items to provide customers with accurate information
• Close and secure the store at the end of the shift
• Attend team meetings and training sessions as required

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role preferred
• Knowledge of various coffee brewing methods, latte art, and coffee roasts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
• Outstanding customer service skills and a friendly, enthusiastic personality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to lift 30 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• High school diploma or equivalent
