Job Description
Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the facility in a one or more fields e.g., carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspects, maintains, repairs and provides diagnostic analysis of facility, building, and equipment.
  • Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
  • Use a variety of tools and equipment including but not limited to pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, welders, and cutting torches safely and proficiently.
  • Working with pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Adheres to all department and company standards, operating procedures and safety requirements while contributing to improvements.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively; interpretation and application of safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, diagrams and regulatory requirements, mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Able to communicate with in-house equipment vendors engineers and/or technicians.
  • Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs and provides diagnostic analysis of facility electrical systems in and around the facility, including but not limited to wiring, lighting, motors, power distribution, power disconnect equipment, HVAC systems, and maintenance equipment.
  • Must be familiar with NEC 70E Arc Flash Hazards and required PPE
  • Knowledge of Lock-out / Tag-out procedures
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
  • Other duties assigned that are necessary for the effective operations of the facility.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1-2 years relevant maintenance work experience.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work while standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, stooping, twisting and sitting for periods of time may be required to perform basic job functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Electrical repair and troubleshooting
  • EPA 608 Technical Certification
  • 3+ years of working experience in facilities maintenance
  • Experience with crane repair and troubleshooting
