OPEN POSITION:
Position: Physical Therapist Assistant
Department: Center for Rehabilitation
Location: Marlette, MI
Hours: Casual. Outpatient. Days. No Benefits.
Aspire Rural Health Systems is seeking a casual Physical Therapist Assistant within our Rehab department. We are looking for those with a great attitude to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals constantly striving to provide the highest quality of services for our patients.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Michigan.
  • Able to pass a criminal background investigation and drug test.
  • CPR for Professional Rescuer or BLS-C certification required (will be provided by the employer).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administer direct patient care compassionately, professionally, and ethically.
  • Delegate patients to, and supervise support staff (PTA, AT, etc.) in accordance with patient needs, as well as legal and payor constraints.
  • Document patient care promptly and proficiently (per department policy) and complete other documentation as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information to protect patient rights.
  • Be aware of and maintain compliance with hospital & department policies and procedures, state & federal regulations, and applicable professional standards and practice acts(s).
  • Work with PTs, OTs, PTAs, COTAs, ATs, speech therapists, physicians, nurses, patients, and other staff in such a way as to promote respect, teamwork, cooperation, and a positive workplace.
  • Have an understanding of age differences in the general population and act accordingly.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable in aspects of patient care and professional issues.
  • Assist in reviewing and developing department goals, protocols, policies, and procedures to develop improved patient care and meet goals.
  • Actively participate in educational programs and in-services and attend meetings as required.
  • Uphold and enforce all clinic/facility rules and regulations.
  • Participate in business development opportunities for the department and hospital, including marketing, communicating with physicians and other referrers, public presentations, etc.
