Job Title: Painter

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Job Summary: Contribute to a positive and productive work environment by painting trailers with outstanding quality and service in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions

  • Read and interpret work orders to ensure trailers are being painted in the correct color.
  • Work safely and efficiently to prime and/or paint all trailers and associated parts up to standards with the utmost quality.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on filters, paint guns, and other parts of the paint booth, as needed, to ensure all equipment is functioning properly, and report any issues to maintenance.
  • Visually inspect trailers for any defects and sign off on work orders after trailers are painted to quality standards.
  • Perform any repairs or paint touch ups, as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment with daily sweeping and cleaning.
  • Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed. (This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of activities, duties, or responsibilities required for this job.)

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or other equivalent and relevant demonstrated skills and experience.
  • Ability to be energetic and focused while working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read and interpret work orders and thoroughly complete paperwork/documents.
  • Must either be forklift certified or willing to become forklift certified.
  • Experience with wet coat or powder coat paint process preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to maintain safety while working effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE for the position, including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, face shield, as well as a full and/or half face respirator mask, and paint suit.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 80 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, and stoop for majority of shift.
  • Will regularly be exposed to dust, chemicals, and fumes.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and occasionally climb in, on, or between trailers.
  • Must be able to use a paint gun, grinder, and variety of hand tools.
  • Work environment will be indoors with exposure to heat.
