Summary:

The Intake Worker position presents an exceptional opportunity for an individual to impact the organization and community. The Intake Worker will have the opportunity to put their behavioral health knowledge and experience to use. The Intake Worker will provide crisis intervention, screening, and consulting for individuals who contact the CSB of Middle Georgia, provide linkage with external and internal programs, maintain records, process referrals, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing crisis intervention, screening, and consulting for consumers who contact the CMHC for services and/or emergency screening consultations at the request of local hospitals and Law Enforcement Agencies.
  • Using clinical judgement to decide urgency of appointment.
  • Complete follow-up on no show appointments.
  • Complete Biopsychosocial and/or Addiction Survey Index Assessments on assigned cases.
  • Provide quality linkage to and from various referral sources and communicate within programs to ensure continuity of care between Access and other CMHC programs.
  • Assist in the development of this initial treatment plan and make sure all duties are performed according to current quality assurance CARF standards and other applicable policies and procedures.
  • Obtain appropriate release of information and clinically significant information form various referral sources.
  • Release clinically relevant information to various referral sources according to present administration policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date medical records according to current quality assurance standards.
  • Assume clinical management of the chart until it is referred to another LOC or terminated.
  • Check the database/forms to make sure all accurate information is in the chart prior to leaving the Access Unit.
  • Provide community-oriented programs related to Mental Health services on a PRN basis.

Requirements and Skills:

  1. Must be pursuing a master’s degree in a behavior health related field and after completion willing to work towards licensure.
OR
  1. Must have a master’s degree in a behavior health related field and pursuing licensure.

OR

  1. Must be a registered nurse.
  2. Must attend yearly in-service training to update skills as outlined in the policies and procedures manual.
  3. Must encourage and facilitate cooperation, pride, trust, group identity, fosters commitment, and team spirit to achieve goals.
  4. Must display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work, operate effectively within the organizational structure, and demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible behavior.

40 Hour Work Week
Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
Pay rate can be negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience.
