Architectural Project Manager Level II - (2835)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

A Level II Project Manager is considered the middle level PM. This assumes the individual already possesses the skill and qualifications to pull an entire building package together from start to finish with minimal direction and guidance of a project director. In their first year, the Level II PM's production expectation will be to manage 5-10 projects in various phases at any one time (from design review packages to construction) with minimal director supervision and training on our office drawing standards.

You Have:

  • 3-6 years' experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an Architecture related field.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience producing architectural preliminary drawings and architectural working/construction drawings for commercial projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Career-level architectural drafter or architect in training who can perform all required drafting and CADD functions as well as programming and design functions.
  • Understands commonly used architectural and construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Understands construction methodology and building sequences.
  • Has complete working knowledge and personal individual experience preparing architectural preliminary and construction document packages.

You Will:

  • Able to draw individual project preliminary design drawings under minimal direction of a project director and principal.
  • Has the ability to research and comprehend project related zoning and building codes issues.
  • Identifies discrepancies/architectural conflicts as they occur and communicates them promptly (along with suggested remedies) to the director for resolution.
  • Demonstrates efficiency in ability to draw and produce design development (sign off/pricing packages) including site plan, floor plan, and elevation sheets with minimal director guidance.
  • Sets up and maintains all electronic files according to office standards.
  • Able to pull together complete submittal packages for pre-application and design review approval in various cities with minimal director guidance.
  • Coordinates (with minimal supervision) a preliminary plan check with the city including a review of all building related code issues.
  • Coordinates and compiles all required documents for city and client submittals (including CC&R submittals when applicable) with minimal project director guidance.
  • Attends (with project director) the meeting with the owner on site as a follow up to the team start up meeting. Takes written notes of all owner-requested and team-developed changes discussed at the meeting. Has some direct contact with the owners of each project and works with the project director to follow up and respond to owner requests.
  • Responsible for coordinating all project consultant milestones according to the established timetable and team transmittal
  • Regularly produces a complete (100%) architectural working drawing sets with minimal direction and turns over completed sets and checklists to the QA/QC director for review. Meets with QA/QC director and project director to review redlines. Performs all redline corrections prior to logging in to the city.
  • Works with the design build contractor and field staff (under minimal supervision of the project director) to ensure completeness of all drawing information and to develop a body of work that is consistent from project to project. This may include field visits to each building during and after construction, with the results of the visit to be coordinated for potential inclusion into the drawing standards
