POSITION: Helper A LOCATION: Sulphur, La I. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Assists workers engaged in fabrication of various products II. RESPONSIBILITIES: May be designated by trade as mechanic, painter, or other specialized trade Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping, using scraping tool, abrasive, or placing in solvent bath. Assists in fitting and welding. Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, and work in process by hand or truck. Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas. Performs other duties as described under supervisor. Helps other Craft Workers. Tends pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials. Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools, then distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. Ability to use Power Tools, i.e. grinder, chop saw, port-a-band saw is preferred. Cleaning and upkeep of supplies of restrooms and break areas. Requirement to follow all safety procedures and regulations. III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to read and speak English High School Education or equivalent Possess a valid driver's license Able to lift 40 pounds Available for short-term travel IV.
