This position is an on-site position. Location may change once project is complete. Must be willing to travel.


Position Summary:

The Solar Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and activation of solar energy systems. Skilled in coordinating with teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and project deadlines. Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, ensuring seamless and efficient system functionality. Strong leadership abilities in guiding teams through successful project commissioning.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate safety as a core value throughout the company, supporting the corporate safety program and personnel.
  • Apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Standardized Work Instructions (SWI), and commissioning checklists.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's commissioning program.
  • Participate in providing a planned, documented, and managed approach to commissioning with the client.
  • Develop and review and pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures. Ensure the commissioning plan complies with the appropriate documentation and requirements.
  • Support, guide, and implement changes in systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Prepare the project commissioning schedule and manage all resources and personnel procedures.
  • Communicate commissioning roles and details to appropriate team members; understand the commissioning test plans/protocols, and coordinate and/or attend construction, and operability reviews.
  • Execute and document the testing and commissioning of project specific systems.
  • Prepare commissioning progress reports for management, clients, or others as required.
  • Submit contract required documentation to clients for review through project management application system, and track through final acceptance.
  • Support other team members by providing training and guidance to enhance their skill-set and career development.
  • Provide support and assistance to other Cinterra divisions as needed.
  • Handle special assignments and other duties as requested by leadership.
Requirements:
  • At least three (3) years of experience in construction, and at least two (2) years of experience in utility-scale solar in a commissioning management position or equivalent role.
  • Accredited four 4-year degree or equivalent in applicable field of study and 3+ years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to 5+ years if non-degreed.
  • Overnight and extended travel durations (Required).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (Required).
  • NFPA 70E Certification.
  • Familiar with local codes, AHJ standards, and NEC code.
  • Good computer skills including proficiency in industry standard software programs and proficiency in using technology and software systems for field operations management.
  • Knowledge and expertise in specific PV-specific testing and equipment.
  • Experience with IV curve tracing or another applicable testing mechanism, VOC testing, Insulation Resistance testing, etc.
  • Experience troubleshooting DC systems as well as AC medium voltage.
  • Understands how to read and interpret contracts, plans, and specifications.
  • Effective time management skills, understanding how to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in dynamic field environments.
  • Demonstrates commitment to high professional ethical standards.
  • Collaborative work style and commitment to get the job done.
  • Strong attention to detail and work in a time-effective manner.
