Golf Course Grounds Maintenance

Golf Course Grounds Maintenance is responsible for ensuring that the grounds of the golf course are maintained at the best possible condition at all times with the least amount of inconvenience to guests. Applicants must be reliable, punctual, work well under pressure, follow strict policies and procedures, work as a team, and help foster a positive, fun, and safe working environment. This is an outdoor position and applicants can expect to work long hours in variable summer weather conditions.

DUTIES

Must have a basic understanding of normal golf course maintenance practices.

Operates equipment that is used in daily course maintenance.

Plants and trims lawns, trees, bushes, hedges, and shrubs using hand tools or motorized vehicles.

Landscapes new ground areas, repairs damaged ground areas, replaces bushes, hedges, shrubs, and trees.

Maintains sand traps.

Mow fairways and rough areas; and operates other equipment as directed.

Reports equipment problems and failures to mechanic immediately.

Returns equipment to designated location at the maintenance facility.

Fertilizes soil when needed for plant growth.

Applies herbicide and pesticide chemicals to grounds, trees, bushes, shrubs, and lawns in order to control plant diseases and insects.

Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Performs related work as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a valid driver's license.
