Position Overview:We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Evening/Weekend Youth Services Worker to join our team. This role is crucial in providing a safe and supportive environment for our residents outside of regular business hours. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young people, exhibiting patience, empathy, and a commitment to our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and interact with residents in our group home during evening and weekend hours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Implement daily routines and assist with the coordination of evening and weekend activities and programs that promote social, educational, and emotional development.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed, maintaining a calm and supportive presence for residents experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Facilitate positive interactions among residents, promoting teamwork, respect, and effective communication.
  • Assist with homework and provide academic support to ensure residents are meeting their educational goals.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
  • Document and report any incidents or concerns to the appropriate supervisor or team member in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to youth services and care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; some college coursework in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents, especially those with emotional or behavioral challenges, is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents and staff.
  • Ability to remain patient, compassionate, and composed under pressure.
  • Willingness to work evening and weekend shifts.
  • Must pass a background check and meet all state and organizational requirements for working with youth.
