Job Type: Full-time

Comp: $30/hr. - $38/hr. (DOE)

Shift: Nights (7pm –7am)

Job Description:

The Controls Technician will be responsible for assisting the Controls Engineer with project coordination and design, contract coordination, and plant troubleshooting, both electrical, PLC, and minor mechanical.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop project scope of work with assistance from end user.
  • Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities.
  • Assist with developing bid documents/RFQs for A/E and contractor scope of work.
  • Support the site asset management and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repairing electric, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to control plant operations.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as a Controls Technician
  • Associates Degree in a technical field
  • Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
  • Ability to use AutoCAD or related type of drafting software.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HDD Backup/Restore software, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of automation software such as RSLOGIX 500, RSLOGIX 5000, FTA ME, SIEMENS STEP7 TIA PORTAL, WINCC, etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency
  • Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of staff and management.
