Job Summary: The position of the Installation Helper is responsible for assisting the Installer in performing customer installations according to agreed-upon project timeline and costs.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assist Installer with performing customer installations according to plan:
    1. Read and interpret blueprints and art work
    2. Operate a boom truck, workout of baskets, lifts, scaffolding
    3. Climb ladders and perform work while on ladders
    4. Use and operate a wide variety of power tools, ranging from drills to jackhammers
    5. Perform electrode/arch welding
    6. Maintain awareness for installation issues and report to immediate supervisor
    7. Check product for completion and proper loading prior to leaving facility
    8. Perform quality checks to avoid rework on installations
  2. Assist Installer with completing required documentation for each job site
    1. Complete Bill of Lading (BOL) before leaving facility
    2. Document job status by taking photographs and completing written documentation
    3. Abide by employment policies as established by principles
  3. Participate in safety training and inspections
    1. Perform routine checks and maintenance on all company vehicles, equipment and tools
    2. Learn OSHA and state DOT requirements
    3. Attend safety meetings and training
    4. Maintain awareness of safety risks and bring to manager’s attention
    5. Abide by all safety regulations when in Allen facilities and when working at customer site
  4. General Expectations
    1. Make travel arrangements as necessary
    2. Submit expenses at least weekly
    3. Schedule maintenance/repairs to company vehicle
    4. Attend meetings and conference calls as required
    5. MUST possess a valid United States Passport

5. Follow the rules and regulations related to the safety of all employees working for the Company

  1. Adherence to all mandated safety procedures including: driving policy, production area safety requirements and fire safety
  2. Safety requires all employees to review materials provided by the Company related to any updates on safety procedures
  3. Informs management of any safety related issues

6. Ensures safety of self and others through proper use and care of equipment/work area

  1. Handles and operates all equipment in a careful and safe manner
  2. Maintains tools and equipment in good working order and stores them properly
  3. Keeps all work areas neat and clear of potential hazards
  1. Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

  11. Forward bending, squatting, overhead reaching, kneeling/crawling, and climbing
  12. Continuous standing
  13. Lifting: Up to 70 lbs and team lifting up to 100 lbs
  14. Carry and use 5 lb to 10 lb power tools or paint containers very frequently
  15. Pushing and pulling
  16. Moderate level of hand to eye coordination and dexterity including picking, pinching, holding, grasping and repetitive flexion/rotation

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position with overtime as required.

Travel: Up to 75% travel is required for this position including extended stays and possible weekends.

Educational Requirements:

  1. Highschool diploma or GED.

Preferred Educational Requirements:

  1. Technical school training or certification.

Knowledge Requirements:

  1. Current driver’s license and clean driving record; CDL preferred
  2. Sign industry experience
  3. Construction industry experience
  4. Advanced computer proficiency
  5. General construction methods
  6. Hand tools
  7. OSHA general industry standards
  1. Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  2. Electrode/arc welding
