Skid/Crate Builder

Full Job Description This position will work as a cross-functional team member working with multiple departments to complete the assigned tasks. The main areas the associate will work with are shipping, manufacturing, and warranty. The main tasks include building skids/pallets, cutting raw material, packing the crates/skids and other tasks assigned.

Building and preparing skids for shipping.

Cutting raw lumber

Manage their own time and workspace

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Include, but not limited to:

Understand verbal, written, and drawn engineering instructions.

Build wooden skids/crates from scratch and ready parts/equipment for shipping on skids/crates.

Maintain work area cleanliness and functionality.

Perform all assigned tasks in a limited amount of time, with expected quality, and while following safety practices.

Education/Experience: Include, but not limited to:

Trade school or other experience preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Include, but not limited to:

Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Ability to safely operate a fork truck.

Geospatial Recognition/3-Dimensional Thinking

Working Conditions: Typical manufacturing facility conditions.

Indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%) working conditions.

The warehouse is heated in winter and dehumidified in summer.

The employee must be able to stand on concrete floors for a minimum of eight hours. Kneeling, squatting, bending over, and standing for long periods of time are required to perform assigned tasks.

Can occasionally be loud, especially in local areas where grinding or machine testing is taking place. Earplugs are provided.

Other:

Safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes are required.

Long pants and a sleeved shirt.
