Overview
The facilities maintenance operator is responsible for day-to-day general maintenance of the facility as well as special improvement and repair projects as needed at the discretion of the facilities manager or operations manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- General maintenance and upkeep of property including fencing, filters, lighting, etc.
- Regular servicing of heating, cooling, and well systems
- Care of tools and equipment
- Assist in transportation for litter purchases, pick-ups at animal control, animal transportation to veterinary appointments
- Help with loading and unloading of adoption and special event equipment and animals
- Manage equipment and material needed for general maintenance and special projects, submitting purchase requests through the Director of Operations or the Executive Director
- Carry out special projects when skills and abilities allow
- General carpentry skills
- Electrical and/or plumbing experience a plus
- Excellent organization skills
- Self-directed
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to stand for four or more hours
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance
