Organizational Summary
Goodwill Industries of West Michigan is a non-profit organization headquartered in Muskegon, MI. We serve our community by providing employment development services and placement assistance for employment. Our programs are supported with profits generated primarily through the sale of donated goods in our Retail Stores. We have 17 retail stores and 2 employment and training centers operating in a region spanning Manistee to Holland to Cedar Springs.
Job Summary
Responsible for developing curriculum and teaching heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration system courses. Instructor will provide hands on instruction and assessment of students. Each session will be 20 weeks in length and support up to 12 students per session. Students will take the EPA refrigerant handling Certification assessment required to handle commercial refrigerant.
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver approved curriculum and materials to students in a safe training environment.
- Provide instruction that is relevant to current and future work specifications and job opportunities within the occupational area.
- Utilize a variety of effective and professional teaching techniques and methods to assist students in attaining performance objectives.
- Provide students with individual academic support, tutoring, and skills enhancement as necessary.
- Assist in preparing students for Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certification.
- Provide regular, accurate, and timely feedback to students and Goodwill Career Coaches concerning academics, behavior, attendance, etc.
- Accurately and punctually submit all forms and information needed for attendance, accounting and grade reporting.
- Attend staff meetings and conferences.
- Maintain an orderly, safe, and well- disciplined learning environment conducive to learning.
- Other duties as needed.
