Shop Assistant - Arcadia, Florida

Full-time, Non-exempt position

Summary:

We are looking for Shop Assistant to help in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment at our Operations Center. Duties:

• Vehicle and equipment maintenance - entry level.
• Load and unload small and large equipment.
• Ensure all equipment is clean.
• Maintain a clean and organized Operations Center.
• Operate equipment at the Operations Center shop and on projects as needed.
• Deliver and pick up parts, equipment, and plant material.
• Assist the shop personnel with various tasks, as assigned.

Role Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver's license in the state of Florida and a clean driving record.
• Minimum 6 months of experience and/or training in vehicle or construction equipment repair.
• Combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
• Experience in automotive and diesel engine service, and general maintenance of small engines and off-road machines is preferred.
• Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, loaders, ATVs, UTVs, and other vehicles is preferred.

• This position is performed in outside weather conditions, where the employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
• The employee will be frequently exposed to a variety of extreme weather and environmental conditions at project sites.

  • Quickly move hands, hands together with arms, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down.
• The employee must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift or move up to 75 pounds.
