Salary: $25-$29 DOE

The Class A CDL Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator drives and operates a variety of Class A CDL vehicles.  This position will safely tow multiple styles of loaded trailers to customer locations while adhering to all  DOT regulations.  This position will also require operating vacuum trucks, roll off trucks and trailers, dump trucks and tankers, and understanding the activities associated with each type of truck.   Bring your CDL and safe driving record, and we will train you on our specialized equipment.  This is not your boring, sit in the truck and wait job - there is never a dull moment at Jammie's!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Upholds and follows all company, state and federal safety rules and protocols, including the use of PPE.  A respirator may be required for some jobs. 
  • Mobilizes equipment to destination and utilizes the proper equipment for safe project completion. 
  • Performs required trip inspections on vehicles daily. Maintains equipment for safe operation and clean condition; performs decon and fueling when project is complete. 
  • May work indoors as well as outdoors in all weather conditions. 
  • May work in confined spaces.
  • Completes detailed reports, manifests, work orders and time sheets legibly and submits each in a timely manner.  
  • Maintains e - logs according to state and federal regulations.
  • Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screen and participate in JEI’s DOT drug and alcohol program, to include random testing.
  • Available and willing to work weekends and out of town travel for extended periods of time.  (Hotel and daily per-diem provided). 


Requirements                                                 

  • High school diploma or equivelent (GED) with one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Work at a variety of customer sites and be available to work overtime.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including but not limited to evenings and weekends, as well as some out of town travel.
  •  Excellent driving/safety record. A current driving abstract and proof of all certifications and licenses is required. 
  • Must pass pre-employment DOT drug screen and participate in JEI’s DOT drug and alcohol program, to include random testing.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform duties in a safe and effective manner and pass a drive test. 


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have valid Class A CDL; HazMat, Doubles/Triples and Tanker endorsements a plus.

TWIC Card or the ability to get a TWIC card preferred. 

Proof of all certifications and licenses required.
