Tap & Assembly Operator – 2nd Shift
Are you ready to join a leading designer and manufacturer of top-notch fasteners? Look no further! In this skilled Tap & Assembly Operator position you will be at the forefront of our precision manufacturing process, operating nut tappers, KEPS assemblers and prevailing torque machines to craft top-quality fasteners.
Hours: 2:15pm to 12:45am, Mon-Thurs; Training on first shift
Pay: $16.00-$24.00/hour, Depending on Experience
Tap & Assembly Operator Responsibilities:
  • Identify proper components to load into machines
  • Set controls to synchronize machine actions for various operations
  • Adjust settings of taps & punches on controls, as required, to produce product within specified tolerances and meeting quality standards
  • Verify dimensions of workpieces with specifications
  • Recognize and inspect quality issues and troubleshoot with engineers to correct and document
  • Start machines to produce sample product and measures for conformance with specifications
  • Maintain, oil, and clean machines on a regular basis; drain and clean oil trays, dump scrap, and sweep floors to maintain housekeeping standards
  • Keep tools well organized and reorder as necessary to assure proper inventory levels
  • Ensure all quality and safety documentation is completed
Tap & Assembly Operator Requirements:
  • High School diploma or the equivalent required; Associates degree preferred
  • Prior experience operating tapping and/or assembly equipment preferred
  • Machine operator and assembly experience needed
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to complete routine production and quality reports
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds repetitively
  • Understanding and compliance with safety rules and regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand 10 hours; bend regularly
