Service Mechanic

Job Description

A Oasis is an industry leading Swimming Pool builder in DFW! We are seeking to add an in-house Service Mechanic. The Service Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses and repairs vehicles and equipment. Investigating problems with the various company owned equipment and motor vehicles and making repairs accordingly. Their duties include communicating with driver’s to 

discuss their concerns, carrying out routine maintenance procedures on vehicles and equipment and replacing parts to promote their functionality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assess vehicles and/or machinery to accurately diagnose and repair issues. 
• Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform driver’s of any issues. 
• Keep an accurate log of all work performed. 
• Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Performing basic automotive care, including changing oil and rotating tires. 
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions of new parts.
• Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
• Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
• Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Perform engine, transmission, HVAC, and electrical diagnostics under limited supervision.
• Communicate with drivers regarding vehicle condition reports and make appropriate repairs.
• Completing repairs and parts replacements.
• Work in conjunction with outside contractors on repairs and troubleshooting
• Performs other duties as required.

Skills & Requirements 

• Driver's License and CDL  (Required)
• A minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience with similar machinery 
• Experience conducting routine services and vehicle maintenance 
• Must be able to research and locate parts for repairs
• Ability to retro-fit or make modifications on parts for repairs
• Lift and carry loads of 50 pounds or more
• Work from standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, bending, and crawling positions.
• The ability to climb and descend. Examples would include ladders, stairs, and catwalks to equipment such as tractors and trailers.
• Works in shop and out-of-doors environments.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift; Monday-Friday 
• On call on the weekends for emergency repairs
