Dordt University is currently seeking an engineering faculty member to serve in a growing engineering program, which offers an engineering major including concentrations in biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical-computer, and mechanical engineering. The department seeks candidates with qualifications and experience in either mechanical, civil-construction, mechatronics, or related engineering field with a willingness to support general and introductory engineering instruction related to their background.

Responsibilities: Dordt faculty advance the mission of the university through contributions to Reformational teaching and scholarship, student recruitment and retention, campus and community service, Core program support, and ongoing professional and program development.

  • Teaching opportunities include introductory and advanced courses in engineering in topics aligned with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
  • Our professors engage in scholarship and academic service within Dordt University's growing and highly collaborative community of faculty and students. The successful candidate will regularly involve students in design, consulting, or research projects with industry partners and engage in other scholarly activity central to the mission of the program.

Qualifications: Experience as a practicing industry professional will be favorably considered. Applicants with a bachelor's degree in engineering with exceptional field experience and professional certification will be considered; a master's or Ph.D. degree in engineering with professional certification/licensure and industry experience is preferred.
