Position Overview:

WCMHS is seeking dedicated mental health clinicians and social workers who are seeking a new career adventure to apply for a clinical position within our agency. This unique opportunity allows you to explore the variety of programs and clinical positions we are hiring for, to interview with these programs, and join a team that fits your skills and interests best. Our recruitment specialists will help assess your skills and strengths and will work with you to match you with programs such as our Children’s Youth and Family Services, Community Supports, Center for Counseling and Psychological Services, Community Developmental Services, Intensive Care Services, and Psychiatric and Nursing Services. Responsibilities will vary by program, but many common tasks in these settings include:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments.
• Developing and implementing creative treatment plans.
• Providing evidence-based counseling and therapeutic interventions to clients in a variety of settings within the agency and in our community.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records that are in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Collaborating with other clinical team members, participating in case consultations, treatment planning meetings, and interdisciplinary discussions.
• Monitoring clients' progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
• Providing crisis interventions and supports to ensure client safety and well-being.
• Staying informed about current developments in the field of mental health and incorporating new knowledge into clinical practice.
• Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
• Adhering to ethical guidelines and maintaining confidentiality of client information.
• Engaging in community outreach and education activities to raise awareness about mental health and the services provided by the organization.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• License eligible or current license or certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Psychologist, or equivalent, in the state of Vermont.
• Experience providing direct mental health services, preferably within a non-profit or community-based setting.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and interventions for various mental health concerns.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to establish rapport with diverse clients and create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and organized clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant ethical standards and legal regulations pertaining to mental health services.
• Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to a collaborative work environment.
• A valid drivers license and access to a safe, secure and insured vehicle.

General Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while conducting counseling sessions and performing administrative tasks.
• Manual dexterity to operate computers, phones, and other office equipment.
• Visual and auditory acuity to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
• Physical ability to occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 50lbs.
• Physical ability to provide physical restraints as necessary.
• Ability to drive personal car between locations as needed.
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for client appointments or organizational events.
